HERSHEY - More Than a Great Candy Bar!

Today's post, honors Milton Hershey.   Not because he is the inventor of a great Hershey Bar but, because of his character.  Milton Hershey did not give up.  Even though he failed several times, he was persistent and continued to reach towards his dreams.

He was not only a great chocolatier, but a generous man.  I have been reading lately in the Bible, how it is important not to store up your riches on earth and that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.  The Lord wants us to do for those that cannot do for themselves.  Milton Hershey did just that, he took care of orphans.  He took care of his workers, built schools, parks, churches, and other amazing things.  I found it so interesting, that when Milton Hershey died he had already given away all his riches.  I found this to be a story worth remembering.  I created a LEGO® Hershey Bar in honor of Milton Hershey.

By the way, Hershey does make my favorite candy bar Hershey's Cookies & Cream!  Yum!  It is the best!

I love true stories that motivate me.

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."   Matthew 6:19-21

The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”  Mark 10:24-25

  1. Hey CJ! Great post and cool lettering! I didn't know that about Mr. Hershey! Speaking of which, our family is currently in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania on vacation, which isn't too far from Hershey! Thanks again, and be encouraged in your walk with God and your building for Him!
