What is the Ark of the Covenant?

LEGO Ark of the Covenant Creation
LEGO® Ark of the Covenant
We recently studied about the Art of the Covenant in our Mystery of History home-school curriculum.  I built a LEGO® creation of the Ark of the Covenant as part of my history assignment.  I thought I would explain a little about the Ark of the Covenant for those that may have questions.

God took care of the Israelites while they were in the desert during their travels to the promise land.  As a sign of his covenant he told the Israelites to make a box.   He told them how he wanted it to be built and designed.  The ark was made out of acacia wood and was overlaid with gold.  The ten commandments would be kept in the ark.  Also included in the ark was the manna that God provided for the Israelites for food while they were in the desert.  Aaron's staff was also kept in there.

My creation is just my own design and used as a fun way to help me remember what I study in my lessons.  I hope you enjoy my creation and if you would like to read about the Israelites you can find the story in the Bible in the book of Exodus.
